Silvia and Giorgio are proud to open to their guests the doors of “San Martino agli Ulivi”, the family estate restored with great care and infinite love. Spending a holiday in San Martino means immersing yourself in the Tuscan lifestyle: appreciate the scents and products of the countryside, listen to the singing birds, watch the swallows drink in flight the pool water, discover the intense aroma of olive oil, enjoy healthy food and excellent wines.
Sipping a sunset cocktail by the pool or in the many relaxing corners of the large garden, you will be enchanted by the magnificence ofthe landscape: at the top the skyline of the city of Cortona with the Basilica of Santa Margherita, patron saint of the city, and descending you can see the Etruscan walls up to the cathedral surrounded by terraces of olive trees.
The long and accurate restoration combines all the characteristics of the Tuscan country house (wooden beams, terracotta floors, stone fireplaces, wooden windows and shutters) with the practicality and functionality of the modern house (thermal insulation, sound proof walls, CE certified windows, ceramic glass cooking tops, air conditioning, wi-fi).
San Martino agli Ulivi is surrounded by a large 3000 square metres park, where olive trees alternate with lawns, rosemary, lavender and hypericum bushes, many types of roses, geraniums and other flowers, as well as fruit trees, lemons, aromatic plants (laurel, basil, chamomile, wild fennel, mallow, mint, oregano, sage, thyme). Many relaxing areas in the extensive garden also allow a large group to find moments of silence and tranquillity.
From the raised position of the pool can you enjoy a suggestive view of Cortona and the surrounding valley. It is exposed to the south, bathed in the sunshine all day. For those who prefer cooler areas there is a gazebo in the shade of an old oak tree.
The city of Cortona has an ideal geographical position for exploring the natural and artistic wonders of Tuscany and Umbria.
It is connected by highways and expressways to the main cities of central Italy Florence(, Siena, Pisa, Perugia, Rome) and can be reached by train in a few hours from the main Italian railway stations and airports.
