San Martino agli Ulivi is located on a unforgettable hilly position. The eyes sweep to the east from the Girifalco Fortress and from the Church Santa Margherita to the Etruscan walls towards the Cathedral of Cortona from whose balcony the villa is clearly visible.
From the swimming pool, the landscape turns crimson during the memorable sunsets in the pleasant summer twilights and the gaze wanders up to Chiusi and Montepulciano admiring the shapes of the mounts Cetona and Amiata.
The farmhouse is named after the name of the location, San Martino a Bocena, and after the 600 olive trees surrounding the property, from which the owners obtain a precious olive oil.
The structure is the result of a long and accurate restoration that has preserved the original characteristics of the Tuscan country house, but at the same time introduced innovative solutions for environmental protection (photovoltaic system, solar panels, phytopurification system for waste water, compost station). The house has two artesian wells and is water self-sufficient.
The villa is spread over several levels and consists of 3 apartments (for a total of 290 square meters). Each one has a separate entrance, a fully equipped kitchen, living room with fireplace for the coldest seasons. The layout of the apartments allows the guests to enjoy their privacy and yet also to spend time together.
The large kitchen and living room on the ground floor is the place where guests prepare their breakfast, lunches, dinners to be savoured together under the spacious gazebo among roses and jasmines.
In order to enjoy their relaxing moments and to eat in the open air, guests have at their disposal two inviting gazebos, one located in front of the house and the other one next to the pool. The old wood-burning oven used as a BBQ and a small laundry room equipped with washing machine complete the structure.
The covered parking area is located downhill from the house and is equipped with lights that come on automatically at twilight. Cars can park in front of the house only on arrival and departure to unload and load luggage.
